Prayer for Sarah-Jozelle Rojas
on her 18th BIrthday
A reading from the letter of Paul to Timothy:
Don’t let anyone look down on you
because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in
conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. Do not neglect your gift, which was
given you through prophecy when the body of elders laid their hands on you.
Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone
may see your progress. Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in
them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.
Guter Gott, wir danken dir für SARAH. Sie ist zu einer jungen Frau
herangewachsen und ihre Familie und alle, die sie kennen, sind sicher sehr
stolz auf sie. Du, Vater im Himmel, hast sie all die Jahre begleitet, hast ihr
Heranwachsen und ihre Schulzeit gesegnet. Heute ist sie erwachsen und ihre
Familie kann sie in ein selbständiges Leben entlassen. Guter Gott, hilf ihr
diesen manchmal schwierigen Weg zu gehen. Sie steht am Anfang einer
Berufsausbildung, sie steht am Anfang des Lebens einer verantwortungsvollen
und liebenden Frau, die vielleicht einmal eine eigene Familie gründen möchte.
Vater bleibe stets bei ihr. Lass sie nie aufhören, an dich zu glauben, lass deinen
Sohn Jesus Christus stets der Leiter, der Helfer und der Heilbringende in ihrem
Leben sein. Lass sie eine frohe und mit ganzem Herzen gläubige Christin
bleiben, damit sie die Freude an ihrem Glauben auch an andere weitergeben
kann.
Lord God, Giver of Life and Constant Companion, we give you thanks and
praise for the life of SARAH on this very special day of her 18 th birthday. Bestow
your heavenly blessings upon SARAH today and all the days of her life. As she
enters into the life of the community as an adult woman, may the Holy Spirit
continue to guide her in wisdom, knowledge, and strength. Through the
intercession of Mary, may she be counted among the faithful and valiant
women of the community, sharing her gifts, talents, and time for the sake of
others, especially the poor and marginalized. May her heart continue to be
molded into the likeness of Jesus’ heart, that she may serve you with joy and
happiness. Give her good health, a long life, close friends, a discerning heart, a
zeal for life and lots of love and hope. Through Christ, Our Lord! Amen
